Office Of Minority Business Enterprise

The Maryland Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) Office of Minority Business Enterprise (OMBE) is Maryland’s official certification agency for the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Program, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, the Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) Program, and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program. We ensure only bona fide MBEs/DBEs/ACDBEs and SBEs participate in our program through our comprehensive certification program. Additionally, certified firms appear in MDOT’s Online Directory of Certified Firms.

Certified Business Enterprise Program

A Certified Business Enterprise (CBE) is a business that is headquartered in the District of Columbia and has been certified by the Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD). Businesses with CBE certification receive preferred procurement and contracting opportunities.

APPA Certified

The association is known as APPA: Leadership in Educational Facilities, and is most easily recognized and referred to as simply “APPA.” With one eye on providing excellence in today’s educational environment, and one always trained on adapting, enhancing, and transforming the facilities of the future, APPA seeks to create positive impact in educational facilities on three important levels.

DC Department of Small & Local Business Development

The Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) supports the development, economic growth, and retention of District-based businesses, and promotes economic development throughout the District’s commercial districts.

DMBE

The mission of the Department of Small Business and Supplier Diversity is to promote access to the Commonwealth of Virginia’s contracting opportunities and ensure fairness in the procurement process. SBSD has two key goals: (1) increase the number of certified businesses in the Commonwealth, and (2) increase the total dollars allocated to SWaM vendors as a percentage of all discretionary spend or contract dollars. DBE CERTIFIED

To be certified as a DBE a firm must be small business owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.
